TAKE JUST A FEW MOMENTS...to join in prayerful support of our sick and suffering sisters and brothers in the world today. In a special way, our hearts are broken for those affected by recent tragedies, earthquakes and other disasters around the world particularly in the recent flooding and disasters in the Phillippines and other places; we hold all the dead and wounded in our hearts at prayer today
We include today the following requests:
--For the welfare of a child in protective custody that the best plan may be realized for her and her family.
--For the healing of heart, mind and spirit for another person.
--For another lady's intentions for her family members, all church minisers, Pope, the sick, those who are in jail, for immigrants, souls in purgatory, for all in need of prayer
--For a lady contemplating divorce that God will direct her path and help her to do what is best for her small children as well as herself.
--For very special intentions, several cases asking the healing of body, mind and spirit.
--For the healing of hearts, letting go of what I cannot change and forgiveness of all hurts.
--For good medical results, responsible preparation for marriage and blessings on a future marriage.
--For a special family intention at this time.

--For strength and encouragement as I search for a job in these difficult times.
--For two cancer patients and another in a difficult pregnacy.
--For healing of depression as a result of loneliness away from home.

--also--recent acts of domestic and other kinds of violence which have left many dead or injured along with the relief of the living/suffering families....Send us your own prayer requests to be included also.
In the Dialogue of St. Catherine of Siena, we read God's words to her: "The only way that you can repay My Eternal Love for you is to love and serve your neighbor with that same love...There are many Mansions in my House, but love alone will gain you entrance--a love for Me completed in the love of your neighbor. No matter what your state of life, it is only by binding yourself to me in love that you can love and serve your neighbor."
The Importance of Prayer for Others... "Gather together frequently to thank and praise God", says St. Ignatius of Antioch. "For when you come together frequently, Satan's powers are undermined, and the destruction that he threatens is done away with in the unanimity of your faith. Nothing is better than peace, in which all warfare between heaven and earth is brought to an end. Faith is the beginning, love the end. When these two are found together, there is God, and everything else concerning right living follows from them. No one professing faith sins; no one possessing love hates. A tree is known by its fruit. So those who profess to belong to Christ will be known by what they do." Let us come together in prayer and listen to what God says: "Before they call, I will answer; while they are yet speaking, I will hearken to them." --Isaiah 65:24
"Today, we lift up to God-- --The peace of the world as terrorist threats continue around the world and war rages in several places; we ask God to assist each victim/hostage, wounded or dying person with the grace of conversion, reconciliation, love and peace of heart and for a speedy end to the war. For this, we pray to the Lord.
--Our sisters and brothers witnessing to peace and justice in all parts of the world, that love and peace will prevail.
--For all causalities of wars and violence in all parts of the world, that the love of God will be infused among them so that a lasting peace with justice can prevail, we pray to the Lord.
--Those diagnosed with serious medical conditions, and those recuperating from surgical procedures, that they get the strength to bear their sufferings, unite them to Christ's own sufferings and accept God's will in their lives. We pray to the Lord...
--Those preparing for death who need to reconcile with and forgive their loved ones and surrender their lives to God.
--Caregivers devoted to their sick loved ones, the terminally ill, and for all others seeking God's help in sickness and recovery--For them and their families, we pray to the the Lord.
--For the repose of the souls of those who died recently, especially innocent victims of war and for the families who mourne them.
--For an end to domestic violence and child abuse and that adequate assistance is provided them; that they receive God's love, healing and restoration to rebuild their lives, let us pray to the Lord....
--For the consecration of all homes to the Heart of Jesus, that love and peace may prevail in each family. Let us pray to the Lord....
--Other sick/disturbed, sisters and brothers recovering from addictions, emotional and mental illnesses; in marital or family discord who seek God's help in the recovery of their lives. Let us pray to the Lord.... --The oppressed, marginalized, alienated, the helpless that all will find their home in our Heavenly Father's Heart. Let us pray to the Lord....
--For those requesting prayers for special intentions not listed above, let us pray to the Lord.
... In Thanksgiving... --An alcoholic whose health was in serious decline, asked for the healing of memories and his return to God. Today he offers prayers of thanksgiving for having received "the healing of memories" and says "God has set me free" from a life of alcoholic addiction. Let us thank the Lord....
Let Us Pray...For all of them, we turn to God in prayer--and listen again to God's word: "All who call upon me I will answer; I will be with them in distress; I will deliver them and give them honor.
--Psalm 91:15 Scripture Readings: Mark 2, 1-12 Jesus came back to Capernaum after a lapse of several days and word got around that he was at home. At that they began to gather in great numbers. There was no longer any room for them, even around the door. While he was delivering God's word to them, some people arrived bringing a paralyzed man to him. The four who carried him were unable to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they began to open up the roof over the spot where Jesus was. When they had made a hole, they let down the mat on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, "My son, your sins are forgiven." Now some of the scribes were sitting there asking themselves: "Why does the man talk in that way? He commits blasphemy! Who can forgive sins except God alone?" Jesus was immediately aware of their reasoning, though they kept it to themselves, and he said to them: "Why do you harbor these thoughts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk again'? That you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins" (he said to the paralyzed man), "I command you: Stand up! Pick up your mat and go home." The man stood and picked up his mat and went outside in the sight of everyone. They were awestruck; all gave praise to God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"
OUR LADY'S CANTICLE My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God Who is my Savior. For He has regarded His handmaid's lowliness and lo, from this time on all generations shall call me blessed. For He Who is mighty has done great things to me and holy is His name. And His mercy is from generation to generation to those who fear Him. With His right arm He has done mightily, He has scattered those who are proud in heart. He has put down the powerful from their places and the humble He has lifted up on high. He has received His servant Israel calling to mind His mercy. According to the promise which He gave to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen.
Reflection Time: As you remain in silence and quiet for a while, let the word of the Lord fill your heart and soul. Where am I today, in my walk with God? Are there any lessons for me in today's readings? Is there something that touches me, speaks to my heart today? How will I allow God to direct my path toward him today? Am I ready to surrender my heart to Him? Now spend time in heart-to heart conversation with God: "Come to me, all you who are weary and find life burdensome, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon your shoulders and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. Your souls will find rest, for my yoke is easy and my burden light." --Matt. 11: 28-30
